Não liguem nenhuma PS3 antiga, ligada ou não à internet!
Elas até podem trabalhar, mas irão dar erros provavelmente irreparáveis!

Apenas quando a Sony disser, é seguro actualizar. Isto se houver uma cura para este problema sistémico.

Due to a technical problem, some PS3 owners cannot access PlayStation Network at present.

Sony Computer Entertainment Europe is aware that some users have been unable to connect to PlayStation Network. This problem affects PlayStation 3 systems other than the new slim PS3.

We believe we have identified that this problem is being caused by a bug in the clock functionality incorporated in the system.

Errors that you may experience include:

• The date of the PS3 system may be reset to Jan 1, 2000.
• When signing in to PlayStation Network, the following message appears on the screen: "An error has occurred. You have been signed out of PlayStation Network (8001050F)".
• When launching a game, the following error message appears on the screen and the trophy data may disappear: “Failed to install trophies. Please exit your game.”
• When setting the time and date of the system via the Internet, the following message appears on the screen: “The current date and time could not be obtained. (8001050F)”
• You may not be able to play back certain rental video downloaded from PlayStation Store before the expiry date.

We hope to resolve this problem within the next 24 hours. In the meantime, if you have a model other than the new slim PS3, we advise that you do not use your PS3 system, as doing so may result in errors in some functionality, such as recording obtained trophies, and not being able to restore certain data.

As mentioned above, please be advised that the new slim PS3 is not affected with this error. We are doing our best to resolve the issue and do apologise for any inconvenience caused.

Por portas e travessas descobri que:

The OS reads the date/time from the internal clock. The internal clock is telling the OS that Today is Feb 29, 2010. The OS is not programmed to handle leap year in 2010 so it craps out and gives a default date. The problem is this;

The internal clock was improperly programmed with the leap year(s). The OS is not designed to handle a leap year date on a non-leap year. So Sony will have to release a firmware update to handle leap year every 2 years for those consoles with faulty hardcoded programming.

Que merda Sony! Agora nem online, nem offline posso ligar a minha máquina de 500€!!! por causa duma merda de erro de relógio que não se usa desde os 386!

Pior, montes de pessoal perderam todas as suas informações de saves, DLC´s, Troféus, etc, por não saberem disto. E eu tive sorte por ter sempre noticias frescas quando chego a casa.

E pior ainda os que nem têm a consola ligada à net, caso se possa resolver isto com o FW, que ainda nem é certo.

We are aware that the internal clock functionality in the PS3 units other than the slim model, recognized the year 2010 as a leap year. Having the internal clock date change from February 29 to March 1 (both GMT), we have verified that the symptoms are now resolved and that users are able to use their PS3 normally.

If the time displayed on the XMB is still incorrect, users are able to adjust time settings manually or via the internet. If we have new information, we will update you through the PlayStation.Blog or PlayStation.com.

Ou seja, não mexeram uma palha. Incrível! Resolveu-se apenas com a passagem de 1 para 2 de Março, eliminando o time leap. Patético Sony!
