SLIPKNOT: Post-Mortem Inconclusive, Corey Taylor Breaks Down Over Death of Paul Gray

Brenna Gray, husband of dead SLIPKNOT bassist Paul Gray, who is pregnant with the couple’s first child, fought back the tears as she spoke just a day after the musician was found dead in a hotel room. The couple were expecting their first child together in September.

She spoke of her devastation as an initial post-mortem examination on the 38-year-old’s body proved ‘inconclusive’.

Brenna Gray said:

Paul was my husband. He was an amazing person and I just want people to remember him for just that, and his daughter will remember him for the way he was.

Paul Gray’s wife joined her brother-in-law Tony Gray and bandmembers from SLIPKNOT at a press conference in their hometown of Des Moines, Iowa.

A hotel employee found a dead Paul Gray in a room at the Town Plaza Hotel in Urbandale, a suburb of Des Moines, Iowa, on Monday. Police said foul play was not suspected and it could be up to six weeks before the cause of death is discovered.

Speaking yesterday, the band’s frontman Corey Taylor said:

‘The only way I can sum up Paul Gray is love. ‘Everything he did, he did for everyone around him whether he knew you or not … and that’s what he’s left behind for us: absolute love.’
